How do I apply for a University dormitory?

New students, who wish to reserve a dorm room, are required to complete the normal procedure for dorm application followed by the university of Bonn. This accounts also for students from abroad. We can help with this process. You can apply here.

Office hours:
Monday – Friday    9.00 am  – 12.00 pm
Thursday                  2.00 pm – 4.00 pm

Please apply before the following deadline:

For the winter semester:    August 20th

General Information:
A prerequisite for getting a room in one of the dormitories is that you are enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Bonn.

At the time of the rental agreement, you must have an account with a German bank or Savings bank, from which the rent may be charged. The bank account is not needed when applying.

Tip: The more dorms you mark, the higher the chance that you will get a room. Also, the larger the dorm house, the greater the chance of getting a place there.

As each semester there are more applicants than rooms available, the lot system is followed. Every application gets a number assigned by lottery. The lot number that your application receives will be sent to you. You do not have to be present for lottery. Disabled or ill students are given preference on application. Disability-equipped apartments are offered. Depending on your lot number, the rooms available and the dorms marked as your preference in your application form, you will be offered a dormitory room. If you get an offer and would like to take the offered dorm room, please make sure you accept the offer on time.

More information can be found at the website of the Studentenwerk. Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions or if you would need help in applying for the dorm.
